Welcome to

The Village of Vernon Michigan

The Village of Vernon incorporated in 1871. Vernon Michigan is a small "bedroom community" located in Shiawassee County in the Township of Vernon.  The Village has two beautiful parks and is home to many small businesses.  A sense of community is strong in our village as families gather to celebrate the Harvest Festival in October as well as the  Memorial Day parade and picnic in May.  We also enjoy the Vernon Farmer's Market which operates from July through October.  Please browse our website to find out more about our corner of the world.  We would love to hear from you.  Please feel free to contact us with questions or comments.

Planning Meeting

The first planning meeting held January 28th was very successful with several local residents willing to organize the event.  However we are still in need of more volunteers.  Events such as these can not be successful without adequate volunteers so please participate in planning this event to make it a huge success.

The next planning meetings are

February 25th 7:00pm

March 25th 7:00pm

April 29th 7:00pm

Areas in need of volunteers include; Food Preparation, Parade Lineup, Set up and 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.  It is possible that the event will be scaled back if we do not have sufficient volunteers.  You involvement is important.
